Stop Writing Like a 3rd Grader!

On episode #70 of the Rethink Marketing Podcast,   Colin and Eric rethink another piece of conventional marketing wisdom.  We've been told to write at a third grade level to reach your audience at their lowest common denominator.  Which begs the question, is your audience really that unintelligent that you need to spoon-feed them?  We would like to think there is some facetiousness in that recommendation.  Is your  desired audience 3rd graders or are you targeting sophisticated, well educated buyers?  Have you tried writing to your audience in a way that is congruent with your brand and your target audience?  The level of complexity, overall tone and word choices matter for how your audience perceives you and how they think you view them.  We hope you enjoy this quick, to the point episode that does not get lost in loquacious verbosity!  If you learn one thing from this episode remember, never end a sentence with a preposition!
